Boca de Iguanas Eco Hotel is a fraud. The hotel is not ready for the public yet they advertise it as a 5 star hotel. There is no restaurant on the premises, there is not even a fully equipped kitcken, the beach cabanas at USD 280 a night are a palapa with a bed and a bath full of roaches. When we arrived there last Thursday they played the bait and switch game where they told us that they would put us in a better room although we had reserved a beach cabana. After deliberating we agreed to stay since at this time Thursday Easter Weekend we probably would not have found another place to stay.
Then we discovered that there is no spa nor a wellness center.
Breakfast is served near the beach right next to a construction site to one side and a pool of stagnated water on the other full of mosquitos.
The best came Saturday, the sewage system backed up through the shower floor of our room and luckily we were there so we were able to evacuate the room right and there was no damage to our belongings.
As you can imagine we are still smelling that mess.
PLEASE read this before deciding to go to this nightmare of a place.
