Big surf in La Manz

From swells created by Hurricane Sandra that was a Category 4 as it passed. They are getting some people on the beach wet. I wonder how Barra de Navidad is doing.

Road to Boca de Iguanas

Not sure where all that sand came from and no that is not snow.
I get a feeling that is the back road from La Manz ...... not the main paved road

Sunset before the rain

Yesterday the weather was normal with some very nice sunsets but we've been expecting this very large weather system coming in from the Pacific. Estimates are 2-4 inches of rain between today and tomorrow so we will count tomorrow.

La Manz lagoon open

Foto by David Dagoli

An unusual occurrence during the dry season although if they have some of the water table issues that Melaque has then it's not so dry. It's said they opened the lagoon to clean out some mangroves, widening it so the Crocodiles have more room and are more visible. Also to rebuild and repair the tourist walkway.

Lots of unhappy people about the smell and the filthy ocean. Nobody is on the beach or in the water. A few vacations ruined or just day trips from nearby towns. People wearing masks and towels to cover the smell. Scheduled to be open until Friday.
